A good fence should last you for a long time. However, with the passing of time, a fence will need maintenance and repair. There are common problems you may have with fences over time. Your fence may get mildew stains. Mildew is a common fungus that grows in a damp environment. The posts, rails and lattice may sustain some damage. If the fence is leaning, you need to stabilize it by digging around the post, straighten the post and pour concrete. Lattice is thin and easily damaged. Simply buy new lattice and replace the older version. Replacing the fence is a bit more work. However, with a bit of work and some incidental expense, you can get your fence back in pristine form in a short period of time.
